What is the Brazilian Institute of Transmasculinities?
The Brazilian Institute of Transmasculinities (IBRAT), an organization created in 2013, is a national, non-profit network of civil society activists in order to develop and monitor research and discussions, offer political training and encourage activism, and exercise social control of public policies for the Brazilian transmasculine population. Currently, it is organized based on regional centers distributed across several states in the five regions of the country, is a member in the National Council to Combat Discrimination and Promote LGBTI+ Rights (CNCD/LGBT) and is linked to REDCAHT (Network of American Collectives of Transmasculinities).
